Pesticides are bad

The Society Promoting Environmental Conservation quote the following 10 reasons to avoid commercial pesticides:

1. They are unnecessary.
2. They often make the problem worse.
3. They pose a threat to wildlife.
4. They threaten our drinking water.
5. They pose a threat to public health.
6. They pose a particularly great threat to our children.
7. They pose a threat to the health of our pets.
8. They are tested on animals.
9. They contain undisclosed ingredients.
10. They are difficult to handle, store and dispose of.

They also specify several organic alternatives and we will be investigating those during the course of this year, and probably blogging our conclusions.
